WHAT WE COME OUT FOR
Straight replacement. One window or twenty. Old unit out, new one in, trimmed and sealed. A broken pane, a fogged unit, a window that will not stay up or will not open. Sizes off the shelf or ordered to fit the opening you have.
Sliders and patio doors. New slider into an existing opening, or a replacement for one that has quit rolling. We have one of these on our Work page from a job in Whitehall.
Doors of every kind. Interior, exterior, storm. Slab or prehung, jamb set plumb, cased out clean. Handles, deadbolts, thresholds and weatherstrip.
When the opening is the real problem. Sometimes we pull the trim and the sill is rotten, the framing is soft, or the opening has racked out of square. A new window set into bad framing is money thrown away. We can fix the opening and set the window in the same visit, so the carpentry and the window get done by the same crew.
New openings. Cutting a window into a wall that never had one, widening one, closing one up. Header, framing, flashing, siding and trim, all of it.
Egress windows. Cutting a legal egress into a basement so a bedroom counts as a bedroom. Concrete, framing, window, well and backfill.
New construction and additions. We sheath, wrap, set the windows and doors, and side it to close the weather out. We did exactly that on a poured-concrete house Uptown, tying a new addition into a shell that does not take fasteners like a wood house.

We live in Butte. We work on Uptown houses where nothing is square, on the Flats, in Walkerville, and out toward Whitehall and Anaconda. Most of the houses here were built over 100 years ago, and they have held up better than a lot of the repairs that have been done to them since. Old walls, odd openings and framing that has been patched a few times are most of what we see.
If all you need is the window swapped, that is what we will quote. If we open it up and find the framing is shot, we can fix that too while we are there. Either way you get a straight number in writing before anything starts.
